The Kumbh Mela Prayagraj is the largest human congregations on the Earth which is added to the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage on 8th December, 2018. In 2019, Prayagraj Kumbh Mela recorded a crowd of 24 Million including 1 Million foreign tourists.
The history of Kumbh Mela in India goes way back to the time when earth used to be the staying place for the Gods. In a battle between the Gods and demons to win the nectar of immortality, some of the much sought after liquid fell on the rivers at Prayagraj, Haridwar, Nasik, and Ujjain. The Kumbh Mela takes place in every 12 years. The next to be held in 2025 in Prayagraj.
